Not really many cultural rituals other than getting holy water from a town near mine from Portugal.

FH is excited about everything. He likes to be part of EVERY decision, down to the centerpieces. It's nice most times but sometimes it drives me nuts!

Not many religious or cultural traditions.... aside from the ceremony being at church.

My fiance' is a little bit of both (groomzilla and not).... he likes to (and I DO appreciate) be a part of the decision making and he definitely has helped out a lot. But sometimes he gets a little too into color choices and *trying* to keep me grounded with my ideas hahaha

Well Im doing stuff from an irish tradition in church when we are doing our vows ..im having a rope over our hands it symbolizes our love for each other and at the RH instead of people hitting the glass for us to kiss ...im having a bells ..on each plate and what this is when we have a fight we ring the bell and that will remind us of our wedding vows ...and i will have a card explaining it of course ....but that what im doing and oh i forgot to when i walk down the aisle im going to have a horse shoe facing up ..this means good luck!!!!!

And as far the FH LOL...mmm groomzilla LOL....well most of the time but at my friends wedding last week my friend was laughing b/c she told me that her husband my FH and one of my friends guy were talking about there weddings and my friend said she wished she could have taped it b/c it was like all of them were groomzillas LOL...but i really like kev will be excited to see me for the first time walking down the aisle but he wont say it ...guess a guy thing but i know he will be

Just typical Catholic wedding stuff - nothing crazy.

He's been very helpful - not a groomszilla at all! The only thing that drives me crazy is when I show him things I get 'that's nice, I like it' - it's like pulling teeth to get anything else out of him! ESPECIALLY with invitations! I'm like well do you like these more or less than these. He just keeps telling me 'whatever you want'. UGH! But when it came to the DOC he keeps telling me he doesn't think we should get one. Too bad, I don't want to be stressed or thinking about stupid little things at my wedding and I don't want my BP or Mom to worry about them either!

As far as wedding traditions - I will definitely be keeping the 'Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue' tradition.

Also, there's a silver and sapphire bracelet that I guess has been worn by nearly every bride on my mom's side of the family. It's goregous and dates back to the early 1900s... I hope it fits my huge wrist!

Also, we will be doing a handfasting ceremony.

Oh my god... FH is excited when it comes to the wedding. He's been engaged before (to another girl) and they never got to setting a date or planning. So I guess FH planned out his dream wedding mentally - and now he's nearly groomzilla.

He wants to see the STDs, he wants to help design the Invites, he has a strong opinion on music, and wants to pick the cake. He's got 'suggestions' for what he thinks I would be good in - and isn't happy I'm not going to show him THE DRESS. No one does...

I love that he's involved, it is our wedding.. but he even wants to know what the bridesmaids are wearing, an dif he can help pick it out.. help?

Hmm, we are not really bringing in any cultural or religious traditions since FH and I come from different religious backgrounds. We are keeping it neutral.

Just about everything! I call him my groomzilla. But truth be told I am so happy he is involved because I couldn't do it without him He jokes around and says he wants this that and the third and when I'm like no way babe, he says 'its my special day and I get what I want! You had a quinceanera, I didn't have a bar/bat mitzvah, a sweet 16, I didn't even have birthday parties, so this is my special day' Same speech everytime... he still has to compromise

We don't have really any traditions or anything beside getting married in a church and having a full mass.

FH is not really a groomzilla but he has been involved in basically everything. FH is excited about everything, but I think the most is probably the music, lighting, and the food.

We will be incorporating into our Catloic ceremony the Lasso and Arras since FH is Mexican.

Arras are 13 gold coins:

The groom gives the bride thirteen gold coins as a symbol of his unquestionable trust and confidence. He pledges that he places all of his goods into her care and safekeeping. Acceptance by the bride means taking that trust and confidence unconditionally with total dedication and prudence.

The lasso:
As part of the ceremony to symbolize unity, a large loop of rosary beads or a lasso (cord) is placed in a figure eight shape around the necks of the couple after they have exchanged their vows & blessed with holy water three times in honor of the trinity.
At the end of the ceremony, the lasso is removed by and given to the Bride as a memento of her becoming the mistress of the groom's heart and home.

I really cannot wait to get married and have this special ceremony! And yes, FH is a groomzilla and in a way wants a conderella wedding. LMAO he' really too much when it comes to everything.

We're just doing a simple ceremony. We're non-denominational, so there isn't a ton of tradition there. But we're doing something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. We are also not seeing each other before the ceremony - the typical stuff.

FH is not a groomzilla, but he's VERY helpful and interested in planning the wedding. Our church canceled on us a few months ago and I was so furious and upset - I started emailing every church I could find. I didn't even realize FH had made me breakfast to calm me down. He takes good care of me, and I take care of the wedding.

For my culture they rarely have much to do during the ceremony, so I decided to have a unity cross because booth I and FH are christian.

Im nigerian so I suppose to have a traditional wedding were I wear my nigerian clothing and they do their traditions the day before my wedding......
