Good morning ladies!!

Do you plan on keeping your last name? Taking fh last name or hyphenating?

This is something I've really been thinking about and I can't decide! Fh of course would rather me just take his last name but I'm leaning towards hyphenating! I've been with my company, CHS since I was in grad school! I interned for them for 2 years and then got hired right away. Everyone knows me by my last name, and it's def not a small company! I figured if I hyphenate everyone will know who I am still and I'll have fh name as well! It gets sticky though because when I take the baby to the doctor they automatically call me Mrs. DePalo (my daughter and fh last name) because I guess they just ASSUME I took his name even though it says Sarelakos on the paperwork! LoL I still haven't fully decided yet! What do you ladies plan to do??

Aww! That makes since it's for professional reasons. I plan on taking my FH's last name. I always knew I would do that but especially since all the BS with my dad I am even more eager to drop mine!

I'm taking his name - I've already begun practicing my signature! Lol definitely not very pretty yet.

Off topic, but I worked at CHS right after I graduated college in the HR department! Small world

I am definitely taking his name. It's just something I always assumed I would do when I get married. I personally think my last name sounds nicer then Mango but I want to share the same last name with my husband & children.

I'm taking his name... I really wanted to keep mine because his last name is Armenian and extremely difficult to spell and pronounce. I'm a Sp. Ed teacher and i felt like i'm just going to further confuse my students with that last name! haha

He was very very hurt when i said i wanted to keep mine, so i decided to take his because it meant alot to him

I'm taking his name. I never really thought about it and always assumed I would take my husband's last name. At work people will probably continue to use my maiden name since that's what they know me as.

I'm still undecided--although I bought a $30 gift card for a name changing service when I got my dress at David's Bridal, lol. There are so few Coichetti's in existence that I don't want to give up my name. And, with my dad gone, I also feel like it would be giving up a little piece of him, if that makes any sense. AND...FH's dad is a despicable person, so I really don't want to be associated with him by sharing his last name. I really wish FH would take my last name, but he didn't go for that idea. Lol

I'm definitely taking his last name. My first and last name right now is different and everyone always sayss it wrong so it'll be nice for part of my name to be pronounced correctly lol

I'm going to go against the grain here and say I'm not 100% on the name change thing. I really don't want to because I think it's an outdated tradition and I'm not thrilled by the idea of my accomplishments with my maiden name being erased because I'm married. I guess it's just an identity thing for me.

I am taking FH's last name, it is important to him that I do. I am sad to give up mine though. I also worry ( because I worry about crazy things ) that his last name is very Irish, and I dont look Irish, so i worry that people will think my new last name doesnt fit me.
