We used Glenmar and had two photogs, and when I called about our proofs they said we had about 500 in total.
That seems low to me.

We had one photographer and had about 670 proofs (although we were supposed to have like 800)

Here's the update: The lady I spoke with from Glenmar stated the amount of photos taken usually depends on what the guests are doing. I take offense to that. We had 165 guests, and they photogs were around for about 9 hours. There is no way there wasn't enough to shoot.
I figured out : 580 pictures 2 photographers = about 290 pictures each
then we had them around from 3pm and the wedding ended at 12:30am. That's about 9 hours. 290per photographer in 9 hours time is 32.2 pictures per photographer per hour
I feel like we got ripped off. what do you think? what should I do now? I can't very well go back and do it again. I'm so upset. and when I told the person from Glenmar in tears that I was devastated the lady told me there are things to be devastated over in this world and that wedding pictures aren't one of them, I probably have enough to make a nice album and that's all I need.

We weren't guaranteed any amount of pictures, but after we received our discs, there was around 3500 on them!!!! We could NOT believe it!!!!

we were guaranteed about 500 or 600, i can't remember -- we don't have our proofs yet so i can't tell you how many they actually took.... but i have a feeling its much more!

But we just dropped off a payment to our photographer and he said since we're going to OWG that we'll prob do 500 just there!!!
So I'm sure you're photographer will go way over!!! It's probably just a number that they give but I think there's no way he won't go way over!!

FYI - Glenmar has asked me to update my post.
We still only have 580 proofs, but they are now giving us a 75 photo, magazine style album to make up for the issues.

glad you are getting something extra out of it!
I think in all, we had just over 1100 from our photographer (and she shot with a second).
