Queens County Farm Museum or other recs? (x-post)

I haven't been there since I was a wee little one, but we're taking Kayla and Hailey again for the weekend and we're looking for low cost options for the kids.

Queens County Farm Museum is apparently free! This is the place where you get to pet/feed all the animals and milk the cow and everything, right? Am I wrong? Has anyone been there recently? Would this be fun for kids?

We were also thinking:

-Plaster Fun Time (On Metro)
-FunTime USA (In the MetroMall)
-Hall of Science

We don't want to do the movies since it's going to be so nice this weekend. We've done the Central Park Zoo, the Aquarium, many different parks, Dorney Park, Splish Splash, and many other things, so we're running out of fun, cheap stuff to do!

I'm very open to other suggestions!

In fact- does anyone know a good place in Queens/Nassu for mini-golf/go-karts kinda thing?

yeah the farm is a great place to go...i havent been there in a long time either but theres animals to feed and pet..... and for you and DH theres a farm stand & they just started making/selling there own wine

right up the block from the farm there is a school park on the corner...hth

i was going to say the hall of science too and remember queens has it's own zoo right there as well. my mom volunteers there.

I always forget about that little zoo! We took them both there last summer. They loved it of course!

LOL Jill, Kevin used to work there! He used to take the little kids on tours and teach them how to milk the cows and teach them about the pigs and stuff. He saved some little girl who fell down in a seizure and had some kind of diabetic episode or something crazy. I got to go on a private tour and played with all the animals for like 3 hours, I love that place! Definitely take them there, you will all love it!
