Jackson Heights/Elmhurst girl here

Lea, i know technically once you get into the 70's on 21st avenue its considered that but i always consider that astoria. Well LONG ago it used to be called Astoria Heights actually. So i still consider that astoria, especially since so many ppl i grew up with and hung out with and went to school with live in that part.

Yeah its East Elmhurst on my mail. Chris always considered it Astoria too. I moved to this area in 2003. Before that was I was with my parents in Jackson Heights by Roosevelt Ave and Forest Hills near Yellowstone right across from the North Shore Hospital.

WOW.. Veggie Bride, Gina, and NY2009 = we are all SOOO close to one another!

What's strange is that most people never heard of Middle Village or some of the surrounding areas.. and here are 4 of us! Ha ha!

haha when i moved to rego park friends of mine in Astoria, who lived there their whole lives were like....'where??'

haha

In the summer FH and I ride our bikes to Atlas Park almost every day and just hang out and get soy ice cream from the amish market and go to borders. lol

I love that place

Ha ha - I can walk there from my house in less than 10 minutes. My mother lives like 2 blocks from there too.. so from her house it's even less!
It seems that ATLAS PARK is putting Glendal/Middle VIllage on the map!

I LOVE Atlas Park. Can't say I shop there but we definitely go to the movies/dinner/Borders there.

Ha ha ha.. it's funny bc I don't shop there really either. I wander into the same places you do! Well I dont go there too much for dinner. I tried that a few times and IDK I just wasnt into it. I never went to cali pizza kitchen but i went to that italian restaurant, chilis, and johnny rockets.. and they are ok but not great. We are picky eaters so it's most likely us and not them!
oh and there are some stores that are fun to just look in.. there's one with antique furniture (and for some strange reason i love old dressers).

I know just where that is. My mother is on 79th street but on the other side of metro from you. and my grandmother is on 71st street.. right across from our lady of hope, right on the dead end block.

the only restaurants i like there are orange, good sandwiches. The others are more chain type restaurants. And then simply fondue that one is great.

I never shopped there either. Just go there for the movies and dinner.
