I've seen a lot of people mention that it's a good idea to give the RH a lower final # because of potential no-shows...I was just wondering how this actually works because doesn't the final # have to match the number of places they set at the tables? Maybe I'm overthinking this...but I'm not sure how you would do this. What did you girls do?

Re: Quention about RH Final Count
My RH told me to remove five people when I gave them my headcount and seating chart two weeks before the wedding so that we wouldn't be stuck paying for no shows. I had until 24 hours before the wedding to give them an updated seating chart. Then, I just had to pay them the balance due for the additional people on the day of the wedding.

You def want an exact count at the end bc they will set exactly the number of plates that you have. . I think all RH are a little different with final count. . when you have to give it etc. . if they want it far out, like a few weeks, you might give a few lower for when you have to pay bc TRUST me they will add a few chairs the day before if you write them another check!

Re: Quention about RH Final Count
We gave 5 less guests, and left them off of the seating chart but made placecards for them. My dad is going to tell the Maitre D at the Cocktail hour that we have 5 extra people and what tables they're sitting at so they can set up seats for them before the reception. It's a little annoying but worth it not to pay the extra $900 in case people don't show. These are 5 people we're pretty sure are coming but could not show at the last minute. That's why we picked them.

Re: Quention about RH Final Count
I am nOT giving a short number.
I can give them a final count 3 days before the wedding. I have to pay for 175 and we think we will be at 180-ish.
I recommend you give an accurate count.

Re: Quention about RH Final Count
I wish I undercounted, I had 15 no shows. If you undercount just pick the amount of potential no shows and not put their name on the list but leave enough seating at a particular table so that if they did show they would be placed. HTH
