I always rubbed bacitracin on mine. The oozing's normal though. It's part of the healing process. Only get worried if it continues to ooze for over a week.

you can also soak it with water and iodine free salt. I was told this by a girl at Utopia when I bought a ring there

I used Dial soap and Bactine. Do NOT use any kind of antibacterial ointment (like Neosporin) because once the antibacterial element wears off, the ointment can trap germs inside the hole.

Use salt and warm water on it a few time a day, You can also use bactine. I would stay away from the neosporine.

I used the Dial 2x a day (morning/night) and only used the Bactine when there was pain.
Honestly, don't mess with it too much or it might get irritated.

I got mine pierced in Northern Ireland 4 years ago, and they told me to use salene solution. I did like twice a day with a cotton ball, and I never had a problem. No oozing or anything like that. Maybe you should try that.

yes i used the Dial too!
And it will get like that for a bit...Mine took a while to heal! Just don't let it get irritated by clothing!!!! THAT is the worst!

I only used Bactine.
Dial didn't have liquid soap back then.

I also used Bactine. There came a point where I almost removed it, because it was irritating me SO much, I was told to put salt water on it and it worked WONDERS. Mix a little salt and water in a small plastic cup and place it on your belly while standing, holding the cup tightly to your belly buttob, lay down and keep the cup on it for like 15 minutes. Do this a couple of times a day and it will clear up!

I used Bactine also.
Mine always got infected in the beginning. And always oozed. It was so attractive

Re: quest. for those with their belly button's pierced
i heard you should never use neosporin
i had my nose pierced- many moons ago - and i remember them telling me to never use bacetration on it either b/c the gooeyness would atract dust/ germs (and then they would stick to it). i used the solution that they give you when you get your ears pierced (i think its similar to bactine), and i never had any problems
