1. Buy a sample that was a little beat up (but perfectly fixable) for at least half off with the store cleaning and fixing all the problems...
OR
2. Have the designer custom make the dress for at least full price (and possible anywhere from 100-500 more for custom charges) if they haven't thrown out the design and could do it?
PS - I haven't chosen a dress yet, but one dress I like is discontinued and these are my two options if i go with the dress. Wondering what you would do cause my mom and i are on different pages.

Re: Question....
Im torn on this one, SORRY! Cause, I like the idea of saving money, even if Im not paying for it, so #1 would be the way to go but what if they dont get all the problems fixed..I would be dissappointed.
The, #2 sounds like a lot more money spent but you get the dress exactly how you want it w/out worrying to have any additional problems.
I dont suggest to keep looking if this is the 'ONE'.
After what I just said, I guess I lean towards option#2.

Yeah, I'm still looking cause I don't know if this is the 'one'... but if it does 'become the one' then I'm wondering which way to go...

Re: Question....
very hard decision Leese...I am also torn but I think I would buy the sample & let them do all the fixing....Saving $$ is a HUGE deal even when you aren't paying...That is $$ that can go somewhere else....
Spending extra for the same thing just doesn't make sense to me!

Re: Question....
it depends on how much of a discount i would get..
but leese i have a question for you
Is this 'the dress' and would you regret not getting any other dress except for this one???
can you picture yourself in your gown on your wedding day saying 'I do'?
it sounds like a hard desision but if you cant picture yourself in it that day then it is an obvious 'no'
good luck on your decision!!

Re: Question....
If you would pay the custom made price for the dress if it wasnt discontinued, I would do that.
They may say that they could fix everything but things happen & I would stress out so bad if they couldn't.

To be honest, I've been to 5 salons and I still have a bunch more to go to...I'm totally not done. I have not found 'the one' but the way I roll is USUALLY I'll come BACK to something. I won't be like...oh my god, this is something I need.
I am a constant 'returner', 'exchanger', 'regretter'... I just will think about something and then 10 days later be like... oh yeah, I want that.
So...could this be 'the one'? Maybe...not sure yet. But after talkin with the salon I want to think of my options....
I'll add that if I did order it, I could probably fix some of the 'issues' I have with it..... So that's a definite plus on the 'order it' side.

Re: Question....
My mom always says that a GREAT taylor can make a worlfd of difference in the way you look. I think that if I were you I would buy the sample and send it to a GREAT taylor and then make sure it is cleaned really well. I don't think people will know the difference.

Re: Question....
If this dress really was the one, I would buy the sample and have the store fix it up.

Re: Question....
I'd do the custom one
Then again I am a TOTALLY impractical person when it comes to $$
