Question

When I was 21 years old I was dating someone that was the world to me. We dated for alittle over a year until one day I came home from the movies with my Best friend and my other friend was at my house waiting to tell me that my boyfriend died.
My question is I have visited his grave twice a month until I met my FH 3 years ago, then I only went on holidays and his birthday..........So

Would it be horrible if I went the day of or even the day before our wedding??

Re: Question

Oh sweetie, I'm sorry that is so tragic. I'm glad you have been able to move on.

That is a really personal decision you have to make but if you want my opinion I don't think there is anything wrong with it. If it gives you peace to visit I see no harm in it.

That's an awful thing to have happened to you and I am sorry.. I definitely think you should go before your wedding though and not the day of.. That's supposed to be the happiest day of you life and you should be happy just knowing that your old boyfriend is looking down at you smiling and giving you his blessing..

Oh wow. I don't know what to say. If your fh has understood for this long in your relationship then I think maybe mention it to him. Will this be a way for you to say goodbye? Are you going to keep visiting him? What is the purpose of this visit? I think if you can break it down for him then he will probably understand.

I totally agree. He obviously was such an important part (and still is) of your life. I think your FH will understand, but go before your wedding and not the day of IMO. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

Re: Question

First off, I'm am so sorry you went through that! No one should!

Second, I agree with the other ladies that it is a personal decision, but I see no harm in visiting. He was a big part of you life for a while and it, sadly, ended tragically. I can def understand why you would want to go before your wedding. Maybe for a little bit of closure. Your wedding will begin a new part of your life. Although he will always be in your heart, he is in your past. Visiting his grave may be a good way to let it all go. I hope this is making sense.

Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it will be the right decision. Honestly, honey, this is a true follow your heart situation!
