Question...

Question...

FH and I had budgeted about $4000 for flowers. We met with one florist and were quoted $3700. For whatever reason, we just didn't feel like the woman we met with was very knowledgable or helpful. Just weren't comfortable. We met with another florist who we really liked and were quoted $4700. We talked about it and I contacted her and asked if we could make some adjustments to bring the price down closer to $4000. She informed me that she had miscalculated the quote she gave me and that the quote should have been $6200 (which did add up when i looked over the breakdown she had emailed me). She said she will honor the $4700 quote she gave me originally b/c that was her error (which is very nice I think) but that for what we want she can't go any lower really. Should I take the $6200 worth of flowers for $4700 or shop around for someone under $4000. Keep in mind that we have 30 tables and a bridal party of 20, so we're talking about lots of flowers here.

Thanks for your input girls!

Re: Question...

I would definitely do the deal for $4700. I know it is a bit more than you wanted to spend but if you dont take it, whos to say you will get the same level and amount for that price??

That's a ridiculous amount of flowers for that price. I'd go for it!! You might not be able to find quality for that price anywhere else.

We want to do the high centerpieces, so I think that was where the price gets really high. We chose 3 different styles of cp's ($125, $165 & $175 - 10 of each) My bo-k is $200. $1000 for my 8 bm's. Then the gm's and corsages...it does kind of add up. Lots of calla lilies, etc. I don't know flowers well, but apparently I have expensive taste in flowers..haha

Re: Question...

Did she first quote you 3700 or 4700??? I was going to say thats pricey but now that I read you have 30 tables and 20 in the BP, I think thats a decent price. Shop around and see what other florists have to say

For that amount of flowers I would personally do it if you can swing it

I would say if you're comfortable with that person do it.

I think that's a steal for a large bridal party.

A different florist that we didn't really care for too much quoted us $3700. (different arrangements)

This florist quoted us $4700 but when I called to negotiate it down a bit, she realized that she had miscalculated and that the price should be $6200, not $4700. But she said she would honor the $4700 quote b/c that was her mistake.

If you really love this florist then I would say give it to me for 4700 , bec thats better than 6200. Maybe you can say 4500. But for that many tables I believe its a normal price

Re: Question...

Thanks girls! I think I just needed to hear that the price was okay for what we're getting. Just need to talk it over with FH, but I think we're going to go with this florist. I really love LIW. Makes these decisions so much easier when you get input from other brides.

Re: Question...

i would go for it. the centerpiece prices look right and you have a lot of bouquets. what else is included in that? is she doing something for the place card table? is she including a bag of extra flowers for decorating? Do you need flowers for the ceremony?

It sounds good though!
