QUESTION

QUESTION

Do you ladies know what the hall does w/all the leftover cocktail hour food &dinner food or desserts.Do your halls give you a choice as to what you wanna do w/the food,like maybe donate it to a soup kitchen orwhatever you wish to do w/it.I am almost sure there is always plenty left over.

Not too sure what my hall does with the leftover cocktail hour food, but they did tell me they would pack up all the uneaten desserts on the vianese hour.

Don't know about the dinner's though.

Wouldnt it be a good idea to find out about the food so we can give it to a good cause

That would be good.
I know somewhere in my contract there was a part that said they couldn't leave the food out for more than an hour due to health regulations.
Guess they dont want to be responsible if people get sick from the food due to a 'good cause'.

No harm in asking them though...

Actually now that Dee mentioned it, my hall told me that due to insurance regualtions, they do not pack up the dinners to go home.

allure, ya know I found myself asking myself the same question. all that good food going to waste. that is a great idea if they do give it so something like Gods love we Deliver. I know in NYC that if you let them know about food they would pick up food from restaurants. I'm not too sure about LI though.

I think my reception hall said they gave the leftovers to the nursing home next store. I thought that was nice.

My hall said the same thing, that due to insurance or health regulations, they are not allowed to send dinners home. However, they will send desserts home. I also know that if you ask your hall, almost all of them donate left overs.

my hall packed up ALL the left over food for me, from crudites to filet mignon....only problem was, I had never asked, so I was TOTALLY unprepared when at midnight I suddenly had to figure out how I was getting everything home and where to put it. It was definitley stress I didn't need at the end of my wedding night!
