How does the marriage license thing work? Do I have to go with FH or can I go by myself and do I need anything?? I know it cost money but IDK if I needed anything else
you have to go with FH and it's a $40 fee. You both need a state issued picture form of identification (license) and something like a birth certificate or a baptismal (sp?) cert. If you google this you can find all the info.
Need to go with FH..we just needed our liscense in queens..think it was $35..only took a few minutes depends on if there is a line HTH

NO!!! You need to BOTH go on a week day! It's a pain, but it's easy, bring all your ID and exact change - $40 cash!
FYI if you go to Smithtown you also will need some sort of document showing your names & social security numbers.. either SS cards or just something else showing both your name & SS #.
You and your fiancee need to APPLY for it in person together. But once it's approved and ready, ANYONE can go pick it up from the registrar. At least that's the case in NJ.

Yes, I got mine yesterday & took home same day. You will need both sign that is why you both need to be there.
