Question

Do you have to have your color scheme picked out, including BM dress color, before you start going to florists? I'm getting married in 8 months (OMG ) and I haven't gone to florsist yet because I havent found a BM dress or color that I like. I had scheduled my first florist appointment for tomorrow thinking i'd have a color picked out by now, but I don't But how do I meet with a florist if I have no idea what color the BOKs need to be so how can I know what flowers i'm going to use? I really want to have my florist booked though because I want the date reserved.

Do I have to cancel the appointment? How does this work?

Re: Question

i think you should keep your appointment. maybe once you are there you will find flowers that you love & then match everything else around those colors.

Re: Question

you can always change what you want....i've changed my flowers probably about 6 times. my florist told me i can change my mind up until 2 weeks prior to the wedding.

Re: Question

I would keep the appt. It's possible you will want to build your BM dress color around flowers you love?? Good luck

Re: Question

I would keep your appointment if only to decide if you like the work of the florist. They might be able to recommend different combos you didnt even think about.

Re: Question

I would keep the appointment just because the wedding is so close. It is really hard to figure out what you want and give the florist any sense of what you want, without knowing the colors though... Try to figure out a style of floral arrangements that you want to give you an idea of what florist can bring out your vision more.

Re: Question

i had my colors picked out but you shouldnt cancel your appt. they will ask you bm dress color and what color flowers...but u can just say you don't know yet and just tell them later when you decide.

Re: Question

Defintely keep your appoint.!!!!!! You don't have to have a color picked out to book your florist. I know what color dresses I want but was unsure of the color of my flowers or even the type of flowers and my florist said that we don't need to worry about that until a few more months down the road....So don't cancel, I reccommend that you book a florist esp. since your wedding is only 8 months away, you could always start looking at wedding magazines and floral arrangements to help you out with your decision. Good Luck!!

Re: Question

Keep the appointment. You might find some inspiration in the colors of the flowers you'll be looking at. You'll also be able to see what types of flowers are in your budget, and so many flowers come in many different colors.

Re: Question

i agree with everyone. the price will really be on type of arrangements (high or low CPs). size of bo-k, number of bo-ks...you can always start by getting a price range

but keep your appointment. flowers vary in price, and its a good idea to get an idea now if you are in love with any special flower that may be costly (peonies, etc)

Re: Question

yay date twin!!!

Def keep your appointment cause you can book a florist without knowing your color scheme unless if they charge you for color changes. Even though I know my color scheme (light and dark purple/violet) my florist said that I don't have to make any set in stone decisions until about 1 - 2 months before the wedding.

Also, It's their job to help you with ideas.
