When a woman doesn't take a man's last name would the place card read
Mr. John Doe and Jane Smith
or
Mr. John Doe and Ms. Jane Smith
or
Mr. John Doe and Mrs. Jane Smith
My guess is the last one.

That is what I put on the invites too but FSIL sent hers back as Mr. John Doe and Jane Smith so I thought maybe I was wrong.

Woman's name goes first. If they are married, there should be an 'and' in between the two names...... if not, the woman still goes first...............
