Question ....

How do I know if I have a cold sore?

Background: My lips were really dry and flaky the other day so I exfoliated...now it's swollen in one spot and feels like a blister.

What can I use to get rid of it!

Thank!

Re: Question ....

It sounds like the exfoliating irritated your lips and that you have a cut (not a cold sore - this has to do with a viral infection, I believe). It needs time to heal - hold off on the exfoliating for a bit! Chapstick or Carmex may make it feel a bit better in the meantime.

If it is a cold sore - I think Abreva works the best (over the counter stuff - like $!5 for a very small tube). I just had the worst one of my life and needed anti-biotic and perscription stuff - 2 weeks later and the cut is still not fully healed!

I agree with the Abreva. It's expensvie, but works really great!
