Question about all-inclusive for honeymoon (Re-post from 08 Board)
Neither FH nor I have ever gone to an all-inclusive hotel for vacation, but we're looking into a few for our honeymoon.
So here's a stupid question: is food included in the all-inclusive package?
I'm sure spa and external activities are not included, so are activities offered by the hotel included in the price?
If you're wondering what I'm interested in for the honeymoon, I picked up a brochure of Mexico from a travel agency, saw something about Puerto Vallarta (which oddly enough stirred memories of the Love Boat), so now I'm looking into the Dreams Resort at Puerto Vallarta
Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated!

I went to sandals and beaches all inclusive. food (room service too!), drinks and some activites are included. They offer games, snorkeling, paddle boats, kayaks, and some other things. If you want to go on an excursion away from the resort, that is extra. If you want a special meal, away from the restaurants or your room, like on the beach with a waiter (place I got engaged!) that is extra.

AI resorts will post their policy on what's included and what's not. Some offer additional activities in their packages, such as golfing, some water sports or sight seeing. If you can't find it on their websites I'd call and find out for sure. HTH

We got engaged at Excellence Riviera Maya (outside of Cancun)... it was an amazing all-inclusive that I'd highly recommend. I was nervous about going to an all inclusive, but it wound up being such an amazing trip. And it was so nice not having to take our wallets out for every little thing. Good luck choosing!

Yay!! That is where we are going for HM. We decided to do the Honeymoon package which includes some extras on top of what is already included.

We went there for our honeymoon. We love all-inclusives becauase once you're there, you don't need to worry about how much anything costs since you've already paid for everything. Everyone waits on you hand and foot, the activities and games are included, and there is nightly entertainment (with the liquor included, too, of course!0 Just bring many singles because you'll need them for tips.

I am staying at secrets capri in the riviera maya which includes all food drinks non motorized sports and because we booked a beachfront suite we get a ton of extras..like breakfast in bed the morning after we get there...couples massage in our room..we both get facials...private beach dinner with our own waiter..and a few other things..so it really depends on the place..

All meals, snacks, and in some cases drinks (non-alcoholic and alcoholic) are included. Non-motorized water sports (snorkling, kyacks, water bikes, windsurfing) are included also. They tell you not to tip, but I do anyway.
HTH!

Re: Question about all-inclusive for honeymoon (Re-post from 08 Board)
Food is almost always included in an all-inclusive package. Sorry but I have to share with you that my sister had a destination wedding at all-inclusive Dreams Resort in Cancun and it was awful because some of her in-laws stayed on after she and her husband had gone home and they got food poisoning. So I would say please be careful with Dreams Resorts.
