Wondering if anyone can tell me the average prices that a good band goes for? Also, does that include ceremony and CH or just reception? Trying to get an idea of what FI and I should be looking for in terms of bands.

I'm not sure there really is an average. You could pay $4000 or up to $12,000. Some bands include the cocktail hour, I'm sure that if you wanted the ceremony and CH they would compromise

Heart and Soul of Franklin Wayne music is very good. F.W. also has about 4 other bands. You can hear them all on www.franklinwaynemusic.com I believe an average price is $5-6,000. H&S provides 1 instrument for the CH (1hr) and 7 pieces for the reception (4hrs)

A guide to follow roughly is approx a thousand dollars for every member of the band...So, if you're having a six piece band, expect to pay around 6k.

We are using Bud Maltin (budmaltin.com). They are a 10 piece band, and are about 5,500. You can also use less pieces for less money. My wedding is not until October, but we have heard them live and they are really, really good. Bud is also very helpful and accomodating.

Our band is about $7500 - 10 pieces and will play for the CH and the reception, no breaks. I am so excited to hear them play, they are wonderful.
My sister had 8 pieces for CH & reception and they were about $6k and terrific (we just wanted something dif).
