has anyone ever done a price comparison of BlueNile prices vs store prices?
I found my e-ring on there for A LOT less than FH paid and want to know if we got a good deal or not.
Thanks

my ring came from blue nile. FH priced out similar styles elsewhere and blue nile was the better deal. For less money, he got me better diamonds and a platinum setting

Re: question about BlueNile prices
DH got his wedding band on blue nile and it was about $800 cheaper than at a local chain jewelry store where we saw the same band (it's a very simple platinum band). It was about $300 less than the same ring when we went to tri county looking.

Re: question about BlueNile prices
FH got mine from Bluenile. We went to Zales just to see how much they cost and a 2 karat that zales was asking for was over 5k +more than what bluenile was asking - and on top of that, the 4c's were better through blue nile. The other jeweler (can't remember the name) in the mall was asking for something ridiculous for a 2 karat ring as well.
Bluenile is good b/c you have a 30 day return policy if you dont like it - and you can call them up to ask if there are any flaws that can be seen w/ the naked eye on a specific diamond that you're looking at. HTH

FH got my e-ring from Blue Nile but I don't know what he paid so I can't make a comparison. He won't tell me!

Re: question about BlueNile prices
I went on to see how much my ring would go for. FH mom is a GREAT jelewer and that's obviously where he got my ring from. FH only paid in the $3,000's for the diamond because his mom has had it saved for him since he was like 10 and he paid wholesale prices. BlueNile prices basically the same exact diamond (same carat, cut, color and clarity) at almost $13,000. Yes $13,000 for the diamond alone. So I don't really know, I guess for some its a deal for some it's not.
