Hey ladies....can any of you recommend a place to board your dog for a couple of days. I'm looking to put my lab in a 'doggie hotel' and would like to pick one off of a recommendation if possible.
Thanks for your help!!

not sure of one but I will ask around - make sure you research before you leave your loved one there!

Malibu Pet Motel in Freeport. They are great, we've never had any problems. Did you try your vet?

Re: question about boarding your pets
we always put our pups at the Dark Star Kennel (i know i hate the name too) in Middle Island/coram area. The woman is the BIGGEST sweetheart...Her & her husband run it and it's actually in the back of their home! They are big animal rescuers and lovers! Our doggies get a HUGE cage together...she takes them out 3-4 times a day(and they get their own private dog run!) ...she also cleans everything & such for when u come to pick ur pet up. I absolutely love them...we've used them numerous times FM me if u'd like they're info..

Re: question about boarding your pets
I'm leaving my pup at Quail Run Kennels in Medford (I think exit 64 off the LIE), but it will be the first time so I can't give you a full review. I did a quick search on here, LIF and Google and found only positive feedback. It'll be 9/28 to 9/30 so I can give you a review then!
Each dog gets a fairly large run - half indoors, half outdoors. They don't take the dogs out of the run, which I don't love, but I'm only leaving mine there for 2 days so I can deal with that. They let you take a tour, and I thought it looked good.

I ditto this. There’s packages so your dogs get special play times and treats.

Re: question about boarding your pets
we leave our dogs with a woman who runs the business out of her home. she only takes your dogs and every dog has to bring proof that they're up to date with their shots and kennel cough (which is comforting). while there they have full run of the yard and house and they all leave with a toy. she's a sweetheart (if a bit eccentric). i think it's like $35 a day/dog and she's in central islip. fm me if you want her info.

We use Cozy Nozes in Bohemia too and they are awesome! We have a doberman and a long hair chihuahua and we put them both in one deluxe size pen so they are together and they love it! It's very clean there and they have extra services like doggie day camp and stuff. If you go there, they will take you in back to show you around.
