Question About Booking Makeup Artist
If you booked with a make-up artist who worked at a make-up counter, would you be nervous if they didn't require a deposit, so therefore there was no paperwork/contract, etc. confirming the booking?

how long have you know them?
I booked someone that way - no contract or anything and never really thought about it. It was close to the wedding day and the woman was extremely good at following up and keeping in touch. I knew someone who used her and I guess that made me feel comfortable as well.
She is coming to my house the day of. I got a rec from her on weddingchannel.com. She said we would touch base in the beginning of November, but I'm a paranoid person who gets scared easily if I don't get some sort of contract. But then again, she's not asking for deposit.
I'd be nervous. I'd tell her you want to pay a deposit and get a receipt, just so there is a record.
I'm sure it is fine, but i would get something in writing just to be on the safe side. One less thing to worry about.
I did this for my sisters wedding, it was fine, I went in for a trial and then booked an appt. 1 week before the woman called to confirm.
It would be a good idea to get something in writing. I'm sure most makeup artists are reputable and will follow through on their promise, but it will make you feel better. You can get something in writing without having to leave a deposit.
I want to re-try a trial with someone else, so if I'm positive I do want to book with her, I'll tell her that I'll give her a deposit early but I just want something in writing confirming the booking.
