Question about Bridal Shower

I am planning my SIL's shower. The colors of her wedding are dark and light purple.
Should the colors of the Bridal Shower be purple as well?
I wasn't sure if I stick with her colors or do something different as not to 'take away' from the wedding.

it's nice to sort of tie in the bridal shower decor with the same colors as the wedding but totally not necessary.

for FSIL's bridal shower, we stuck with her color scheme.
