There are a few girls who are *sort of* within our large group of friends, but more on the outside. They are usually invited to the bigger things, such as weddings. Anyway, I invited them to our E party, and they are definitely invited to the wedding, but I don't really feel that they belong at the shower......is that wrong of me?

Re: Question about bridal showers...
I think the 'rule' is that anyone you are inviting to the wedding should be at the bridal shower. I would invite them, especially since you had them at the e-party.
Unless your bridal shower is going to be more intimate with only family.

I don't think its wrong, if they get offended you can always say that you needed to keep the numbers down for the shower due to cost and you couldn't invite everyone

Re: Question about bridal showers...
If you didn't invite them to the eparty and u were just inviting them to the wedding i'd say it was no big deal. But they were already involved in the first wedding event so at this point i think u should. Like someone said, you could always say that you are trying to keep #'s down at the shower though.

I agree with this too and actually just found out by mistake that I'm not invited to the shower of the bride who I work with and see everyday but am invited to the wedding. Weird but you get over it. (Just awkward here because other work friends were invited )

Re: Question about bridal showers...
its not rude not to invite them if they say anything let them you want to keep the cost dowe for who ever is throwing it and do remember that it will then cost them nothing either they then will not have to get you another gift ( first your e-party the nyour wedding gift)so they may not say anything at all in todays encomy the may be happy not to get invited

Re: Question about bridal showers...
traditionally only close family and close friends are invited to the bridal shower. i don't think it is bad for you to not include them. bridal showers are supposed to be intimate gatherings, so i would only invite the people who i really wanted there. just my opinion. good luck!

Yea...I agree with this. Especially if you're in the same circle of friends. It might make things awkward. They could always decline.

I disagree. The rule is that anyone invited to the shower must be invited to the wedding, not necessarily the other way around. I've been invited to plenty of weddings, but not always the shower, which is generally reserved for the closest friends and relatives of the bride.

I agree with this!
My Best Friend had a shower where all women were invited (about 90guests).. There were sooooo many people there and she opened so many gifts that it seemed like that was all she did. She felt uncomfortable, hardly knew some people there, and I'm pretty sure she didn't even get to talk to/see everyone who attended.
eta: if your these friends are close enough to you that they were invited to the engagement party, I think they should probably be invited to the shower, unless you had a huge engagement party where everyone was invited.
