question about bridesmaids shoes

question about bridesmaids shoes

My bridemaids are wearing a bright blue long dress and I told them to get a silver sandal ( my wedding is in august so I thought sandals were ok). My mom says that they must get the soes dyed to match the dress.

I thought silver would look nice with the blue.

Any opinions on what they should wear?

Thanks :)

Re: question about bridesmaids shoes

I like silver with blue!!!

I like the color match shoes, but sometimes I think it's too much when the shoes match.

It's your wedding, if you want silver shoes, you do silver shoes!!

The shoes don't have to match the dress, Silver sandals are fine... cheaper cause then they don't have to pay for dying and they can wear them again in the future. Long dresses means people will see little of the shoe anyway and the other psoter was right about sometimes it's too much when the shoes match exactly.

No idea why, but I have a personal vendetta against dyeables. I think the silver would look very nice!!

I like the silver shoes. I'm not a big fan of dyeables - mostly b/c the bridesmaids won't be able to wear the shoes again.

ITA about the silver shoes looking great with blue dresses. Im probably going to have blue dresses as well and I want my girls to be in silver sandals.. plus when it comes reception time the girls are going to want to put sandals on anyway to be comfortable dancing.. they might as well just wear them all day !

MY BM shoes are not going to be died to match the dress.

ets.. and they are wearing tea-length dresses, so the shoes will be very much seen!

Silver is fine. They don't have to be dyed.

Go with the silver....they an get more used out of them rather than a dyed pair.

I love silver with the blue. It is so much easier to have the girls get a metallic shoe then having them get dyable shoes.

I totally agree. Silver looks great with blue and they will be able to wear them again.

I was going to do silver with magenta...i think silver always works with formal wear and silver and blue definitely go...

The only thing is that my girls are wearing short dresses so I wanted the shoes to be the same and we ended up finding really cute dyeables from the lela rose collection from payless.

They are very affordable and there is BOGO as well. You can check out the swatches in the store. Mine actually ended up matching exactly!

Re: question about bridesmaids shoes

I like the silver with blue. I'm very particular....and i feel like if you try to dye the shoes they will not match the dress exactly because they are different fabrics. And that would bother me. I would feel like they dont work. Its like if the colors are too similar but not exactly the same it looks funny. I think you are better off sticking with silver.
