In April I plan on making the final decision and ordering the dress but I'm clueless about what happens...
Do you pay in full right there and then or do they have payment schedules?

You have to pay a certain amount to have it ordered(usually half, but paying in whole is entirely up to you, I don't see them objecting) and the balance to get it out of the store.

I went Saturday and I had to put half down yikes!! but we were able to charge it and get miles for it
my parents love using that credit card we have so many free flights

Whewww...glad to hear that you don't have to pay in full right there on the spot. FH would fall over if he saw that amount on the credit card!

To order it, I put half down and then just payed little by little until it was ready to pick up.

I paid half when I ordered it, and the rest is due when I pick it up. I didn't pay the whole thing up front. I wanted some kind of leverage should something go wrong (I know, I'm a little paranoid!).
