Re: Question about cats.

I will keep trying the sticky tape and hope that it works. If not,I will try something else.

I got a water gun and sprayed my cat every time she was on something she shouldn't be on

within a week no more counter!

Re: Question about cats.

This cat only does it when we aren't around.
We do have a water gun that we squirt him with when he jumps up on other things but it doesn't bother him.The weirdo seems to like water.
The other cat HATES water.

Re: Question about cats.

I think cats pretty much do whatever they want! I can only imagine what Casanova does when we are at work!! I would try the tin foil cats really don't like that! Good Luck

Re: Question about cats.

Please let me know if you find something that works! I can't keep my cat off the counters either.

He's just like your cat. He won't go up there when we are home, but when we are at work he does what he wants. I find his paw prints or hair or kitty litter everywhere

I tried tape, tried foil-he just knocks it off the counter and plays with it. I don't want to spray the bitter stuff in the kitchen.

Sigh. I'm about to give up and just let him be the boss...

Re: Question about cats.

I had a similar problem with the my cat going on the entertainment center and kitchen table. I did the foil, tape and mist from a water bottle and those only helped when I was there....I still found hair there from when i wasnt home.

Here is what worked...I think....cats hate sour stuff. Lemons and oranges. I cut up a lemon and put slices on the surfaces she would go on.... I had to keep on top of it and put fresh slices everyday...but she hated it and I have not found traces of her on those pieces of furniture. I did it for about a week.

I think it worked for me...you might want to try.

Good Luck!

Re: Question about cats.

I have also used a water gun to train my cats- they hate it. After a few times you don't even have to shoot-you just have to pick it up and they know.
