Question about changing passport?

Question about changing passport?

Is there a way to get a new passport where they change your name in the front and not just the amendment in the back? We are thinking about traveling sometime this year and want to get this process started.

Thank goodness this will be my last thing to change.

They changed the rules and I had to get a whole new passport. It is a very easy process, it takes a few weeks. You can go to your post office. Good luck!

I just printed the paperwork the other day for this. Yup - you have to surrender your old passport and get a new one. You do have to take new pictures but there is no fee if you do it within a year of issue.

Now another question (sorry) - can you travel with your old passport and marriage license?

Not sure - you should check out their website to find out...but you could pay to expidite the change to get it back faster.

Have you also changed your Paypal account? I just did that.

Not if you plane tickets are under your maiden name. You have to fly under the same name as your passport.

So what if I don't change it and just fly under my maiden name? I just got new passport last yeat for my HM.

I just did this to Paris over christmas. My ticket was booked with married last name and my passport is in my maiden name. I called the airline and they told me to bring my marriage license along and that would be fine. I had no problems at all.

If you are worried, just book your ticket in you maiden name so that it matches

Ok great - I might do that.

And Daniela - when you did go in person did they take your ML from you? I don't have any certified copies only the original and I am not mailing it. It means I would have to get a certified copy.

I have been flying with my passport in my married name with the ammendment in back with no probs....is this a new change???? Do you think I need to do anything?

I just flew last week and had to use my passport. As long as
your ticket matches your passport your fine. I'm leaving my
passport in my maiden name until it expires....it's to expensive
to get a new one.
