so apparently the church marked us down for a full mass.. now i only wanted a ceremony so I called to confirm they still had me in .. and they told me if I wanted to change to ceremony I would have to write a letter to the priest.. does this sound weird to you? cause why would I write a letter and what the heck would I say in it? anyone want to do this for me, LOL!!!!!!!

some churches are more strict than others... but my church said no problem and changed it on the spot

Yes, that sounds very strange. When we met w/ the priest initially it didn't seem like a big deal if we were going to do a full mass or just ceremony. It was a simple quetion... I dont know why you would need to write a letter. It's not like you're changing the date?
Do you have your priests number? Maybe you can call or email him directly?
ETA: I just saw the church you are getting married at and now it sounds about right they are asking you to write a letter. They are ridiculous to deal w/....so strict!
