Wow this is a tough one, cause those colors do look pretty similar.

I think it's okay to use a similar shade of the same color, especially since these colors are beautiful and they'll go great with pink flowers

also eggplant is a very typical BM color so the blackberrry is a nice change

Your weddings are more than 6 months apart. No one but you and your SIL are going to remember each others' colors. I'd just go with what you love and not think about what she's doing. Most people don't remember what colors others use at their weddings, honestly. Plus your details will be all your own, so don't even think that people are going to compare.

Are THOSE the two colors you're worried about? Cause I dunno if it's just my comp, but one is WAY more reddish/pinkish basd (the bottom one) and the other is PURPLE, like REALLY purple... so I don't see an issue here.
And I remember that color conversation til like...2am int he morning, lol.... I don't think you should have to change them unless it bothers YOU.
ETA, me personally, Iw ould want my colors to be different, not for her sake, but for mine, so if she goes with something more purply, eg eggplant, I'd go with the blackberry since it's more red and less similar to eggplant.. JMO.

they are totally diff. shades. You can definitely get away with it. And either way, you should do what you want - don't change your color choices or anything you want to do for your wedding just because someone else is doing it too.

I don't think they are that similar. The blackberry is more pinkish looking to me. I actually like it more b.c its different. I would deff do it.

Hmm I'd say no bc a differnt style dress can change the look plus every cimpanies swatches are different even if its called the same color plus different flowers and secondary color cab change the look

i really think the first is more purple and the second is more of a pink. I really don't think there is an issue.

Theyre both beautiful colors, I know it may appear that your copying her, but you might wanna just talk to her and be like oh I just found out you were doing this color and I just wanted you to know that I had been thinking about using that same color so I hope it doesn't offend you...not really asking, more just stating. Personally I think you should do whatever color you want, it is yourrr wedding. Who cares if it's similar.
