Question about Cookware for registry

I'm started to work on my registry and I have a question about cookware sets. What type should I get??? Stainless steel, non-stick, anondized???

Re: Question about Cookware for registry

My grandmother purchased some cookware for me before she passed, she was set on getting them for me. Anyway, I have All Clad. They have a lifetime warranty. They are so pretty I am afraid to use them. I highly recommend the Multipurpose Cooker. I will probably need FH to help me with all the other pots but the Multi Cooker has like a 2 in one look that drains the pasta right into the other pot. Just be careful sometimes the handles have a tendency to get a little warm. But I highly recommend All Clad!!!

If you're a new cook I'd say go with nonstick... everything sticks to stainless steel and you need to be really careful. I have a nonstick set now and I registered for All Clad stainless - both are good for different purposes.

Well FH & I are both NOT new to cooking but we all different types of cookware. We registered for
the pic below (Anolon Advanced Cookware - 12piece set). But we have cast iron for some uses & stainless as well. We love them all but for a new cook i also suggest Non-stick its easiest for you. HTH!

I would recommend All Clad or Calphalon pots - they are both extremely good....and non stick - I am VERY NEW to cooking...LOL so non stick was the direction everyone led me in

IMO i would go with stainless steel. you can't use brillo on non stick because it ruins/scratches the teflon. FH and I bought stainless two years ago because we had no pans to cook with because all of the non stick were ruined. non stick is great though because it's easy to clean nothing really sticks to it.

no dishwasher....you forfeit your warranty if you do it....and it messes with the coating...

LOL ive had a set (not super expensive) for like two years and I always put it in the dishwasher. Guess I better register for new stainless pots!

stainless is fine in the dishwasher...its the non stick that is the issue...non stick should always be washed by hand.

My bad....this is what i registered for....i was thinking stainless steel is non stick....(i said i was new to cooking)...this is what i registered for

Calphalon Tri Ply Stainless Steel 13-Piece Cookware Set

Its a little pricey but they are supposibly really good...one of my gf's is a 'cooker' and loves them...

It's a personal preference. I prefer some non stick and stainless steel cookware for different things.
