I know what I want. I've tried it on and I L O V E it, with one condition. They (whoever) Needs to sew on sleeves for me. Imagine a shawl draped over your shoulders, but only covering the upper arm.
Question.. If I buy the dress in NJ is it cheaper (ie no tax)? Dress is Demetrios.. $1190 ..
Question 2: Does anyone know of a place that caps cost of alterations so my alterations don't cost more than the dress?

A lot of places that do wedding dress alterations allow for price caps - you can call around to seamstresses and you are bound to get a few that will do that.
As for the price of the dress, it depends on where exactly you get it from, and if you go and pick it up or if you order it by mail/phone.

i ordered my dress at Burton's Bridals and was told that as long as i didn't need a hem, the alterations were included in the price.

Macy's does have a cap on alterations and does sell Dmetrios gowns, but I'm not sure if they'll actually add sleeves. Call and ask a Macy's Bridal
