So I made my first Etsy purchase the other day and I received an order # and I even see that my payment was taken out of my account via paypal. Today, I received an email from Paypal saying that my account has limited access and to fill out this confirmation thing requiring all my account information and PayPal password, etc. I'm not sure what that is and I'm not comfortable putting my information in again when I see the payment was already taken. With all the hackers these days I'm afraid to fill it out.
Has anyone had this happen and what is it?

I would sign in on my paypal account, if info is needed, they will ask for it then I would guess.

sounds like a spam attack do not enter it and call etsy or contact them

I actually contacted the vendor on Etsy directly and sent an email to PayPal from their website. The vendor said she got the payment and the order. So it sounds like a scam to me. I did open the zip file but I never entered any information.
Waiting back to hear from PayPal.

I've gotten stuff like that before...definitely a scam...someone trying to get your info! Like previous replies have stated...contact paypal if you are concerned about it....but if the transaction went through ...you shouldn't have to provide any additional info.

Oh ...and just do a virus scan of your computer...since you opened a zip file...you want to make sure no viruses were downloaded to your computer! Better to be safe than sorry!!

I know this sounds bad but I opened the zip file at work. So my personal PC's are ok and work does regular scans anyway.
But PayPal did write me back and confirmed my account was ok and that it absolutely was not them.
Damn hackers!!! lol

I am about 80% sure that this has nothing to do with Etsy... paypal now has a new security system and they have to verify more information to make sure you are who you are. It happened to me from an 6pm.com purchase a few weeks ago.
I just scanned my drivers license and then everything was good to go. I use Paypal for business and the only 'limit' was adding money to my paypal account, I had no troubles with withdraws or making payments while it was in limited status.
