Question About Fairytale Makeovers

Question About Fairytale Makeovers

Is Jennifer the only one who does hair and makeup from there? Or are there others who work there, but she's the best? I'm also confused about their prices...they seem ridiculously cheap on the website, but I wonder if maybe I'm not understanding how the pricing works.

My wedding is not for over a year, but I'm always researching and planning, so any clarification I can get I would realy appreciate.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think she does have an assistant. As for the prices, I think the website is pretty accurate.

If you really want to go to her, at least for a trial, I'd contact her now...she books fast as you know from these boards.

So she IS Fairytale Makeovers?

The confusion I have about the price is that is says that you can get the bride and BMs hair and makeup for $300? Am I misunderstanding that or is that the actual price? Or is it $300+ $70 for each person? I'm not normally this much of a spazz, but I'm sooooo confused on this!

Jennifer IS Fairytale Makeovers. She will bring an asst if it is needed.

I don't know about the prices. I can tell you that for my hair and makeup, hair and makeup for my MOH and my mom, and hair for a cousin cost over $300.

BUT worth every penny we paid.

Re: Question About Fairytale Makeovers

I used Fairtytale Makeovers for hair only for me, my mom, MIL, 4 BMs and my flowergirl so she came with 2 assistants, who I think work at the salon with her. I'm pretty sure I paid $75 for each updo.

Re: Question About Fairytale Makeovers

I just scheduled my trial with Jenn and here is what she told me: $170 for the bride's hair and makeup (with airbrushing). And then for each BM it is $70 for hair and another $70 for make-up (total $140). I believe you can pay the $300 in addition to the $140 per BM, if you want her to stay for the photographs and such. Hope this helps.

Re: Question About Fairytale Makeovers

Thanks! I knew it sounded too good to be true. That's quite a bit of money for me to pay for 4 other people in addition to me. I imagine that it's not going to be much cheaper anywhere else. Man, I really wanted to be able to pay for my BM's hair and makeup, but maybe I'll only pay for one or the other. Then again, I'm getting the BM dresses for free, so maybe I'll have them pay for their own hair/makeup if they want it done. I just don't want them to incur a lot of expenses as a result of being in my wedding.

Re: Question About Fairytale Makeovers

I didn't want my girls to have to pay a lot either, so I told them they could do whatever they wanted.

If they wanted to get hair done by Jennifer at my house, that was okay with me.

If they wanted to get makeup done by Jennifer at my house, okay with me.

If they wanted to get hair done elsewhere, okay with me.

If they wanted to get makeup done elsewhere, okay with me.

If they wanted to do their own hair or make up, okay with me.

Any combination of the above, okay with me.

In the end, all girls but one got their hair done professionally. The one who did her own hair still looked wonderful. Only my sister (MOH) and Mom got their makeup professionally done, but everyone looked beautiful.

That way no one had to incur any expenses they weren't ready or able to pay.

Re: Question About Fairytale Makeovers

That's what my plan is...to let them do what they want. The only problem is that none of them live locally, and therefore, don't know any salons in the area. I'm sure most of them won't want their makeup done, and maybe I'll only offer to have their hair done, but my sister is my MOH and I want her to be pampered as well, so I'll probably get her both. Why is it that I feel guilty asking my BMs to spend any money to be in my wedding when that's how it's almost always done??

Re: Question About Fairytale Makeovers

i felt guilty asking anyone to spend money too, so i didn't ask. i left everything up to my BMs. essentially i said, this is the dress. and i got it discount for them too. i told them, you can wear whatever shoes you want, wear your hair how you want, do your makeup this way. i bought them their jewelry. and they looked wonderful and appreciated the choice to do whatever they wanted.

if your BMs aren't from here, you can still offer this to them, but scope out the prices at a few hair salons if you want, or even call a beauty school. maybe some students can work cheaper? if it comes out a way they don't like, they can always wash and redo themselves.
