Question about formula fed babies

Hi - I havea quick question - Jake will be 2 months next week and is eating about 6 ounces every 3 hours. I jsut wanted to see how much formula your little once was eating at 2 months. I feel like its alot and sometimes after he is finished, he is still hungry and I give him more.

Is this normal?

All i have to say is that all babies are different...Jillian is 7 months and is just eating 6 oz....but she loves to eat food ... I guess he is going to be a good eater

Nick was eating about that much....and he was still acting hungry! I told the dr., he said that was a bit too much for him to be eating. He finally told me try giving him rice cereal in the bottles 3X per day when Nick was 8 weeks...that filled him up more and he was back down to eating about 27 oz. per day. But I know that a lot of people do not agree with giving the baby cereal this early....so maybe ask your ped. if it is ok that he is eating that much?

Jack is 11 weeks old and is eating about 5 ounces 5 times a day. I do add about a teaspoon of rice cereal to his dinner time bottle. He sleeps from about 10pm to 7am without waking or needing a feeding. So I try to feed him every 3 hours or so during the day to make sure he eats enough to hold him over for the night.

We have been really lucky! But I must say, every night when I go to bed it is almost like a stressful feeling....like was the last couple of nights sleeps just a fluke or is this really his schedule?? Last night I actually slept from 11 (had to stay up for Alias!) until 5 am without waking to check on him. It does feel good..I wont lie!

That is great sleep for 11 weeks! Nick was sleeping for about 6 hours straight at the most, then eating, then back for about 4 more hours. Then on New Year's Eve he slept for 10 hours straight - I was shocked. He has done it every night since...last night he even slept for 11 hours! I do get up once or twice to put the pacifier back in his mouth though - if I don't, he will completely lose it! I am the same way - I keep thinking it is just a fluke.
