question about grooms cake ...

what exactly do you do with a grooms cake ... i mean, i know you cut it ... but is it at the same time as the 'regular' wedding cake? do guests then get an option of which cake to eat? how does it work?

sorry i'm so clueless

I think a lot of time the groom's cake is at the RD.

nothing!!
i had DH's come out at the reception they just annouced it showed him, and the brought it to the back and put it back in the box! LOL we are going to eat it for our anniversary with our cake topper.

some people like to give it to the groom at the rehearsal dinner that way it gets eaten..

Re: question about grooms cake ...

Just read in the new issue of Brides...Grooms Cake was traditionally a fruit cake that was cut up into small pieces, put in little boxes, and sent home with guests. Single ladies would put the box of fruit cake under their pillow that night in hopes of dreaming about their future husband.

I want to have mine served at the wedding, but I'm going to check with the reception hall to make sure that's OK.

I am still kinda up in the air about whether I want the groom's cake at the RD or the Reception. I kinda like the idea of having it at the Recpetion because his cake (shape of an XBox) will tie in nicely with the cake topper for our wedding cake (see album). But I do worry about the cake not being eaten. If I have it at the RD I know it will get eaten because that would be the only cake.

I have time to figure it out. One way or another FH is getting that groom's cake! LOL
