Okay.... are you/did you provide guest transportation to the church? and then from there straight to the reception?
OR
Are you/Did you have your guests return to the hotel (mine is about a 15 minute drive), have an hour to 'freshen up' and then have the bus take them all just from the hotel to the reception?
The only wedding I went to that provided transportation for guests worked the second way. I was just wondering what everyone here is doing/did.

My timing is different, but I am going to have transportation just to and from the reception from the hotel. I worry about the drinking and driving and hopefully no one will drink too much at the church!

Most of the weddings I've been to with shuttles have done it from the hotel to the reception. Since your church is at 1 and your reception starts at 4:30, you'd be able to do this easily.
One friend provided transportation to the church and then to the reception (by way of a stop at a bar to fill up the time in between).

we had a lot of out of towners so we got a bus (DH from Texas). it took everyone from melville hilton to the church in manhasset then went back tot he hotel for people to change/freshen up (a lot of people did) it was a 1/2 hour stop. The bus then took them to my parents house for pre-reception cocktails and the over to the Harbor Club and back at the end of the night. it worked out great and saved alot of people from the expense of renting a car.

I'm doing it the second option.
my church is at 4, then they'll be brought back to the hotel for a little less than an hour, then off to the reception for 7pm CH!

We are doing the second option also...Church is at 4 in Queens, Cocktail hour at 7 about 10 minutes from the hotel....transportation between hotel and reception.

oh, i'm sorry i misread your post. we're having transportation from hotel to church, from church to hotel, from hotel to reception, from reception to hotel.

We are going to do the second option - hotel to church back to hotel for an our and half or so and then to the reception.
