Question about hair trials
Hi ladies,Those of you that have had hair trials - or already gotten married
, has the stylist required that your hair already be blown out for them?I have curly hair, but want it blown out for my wedding. Nothing intricate, just a voluminous blow out with curls at the bottom. It seems like every stylist is requiring that I 'do' my hair, before they 'do' it. I don't get it, why can't they just do the complete job? Is this normal?!
Thanks!

Question about hair trials
My lady asked me to have it washed the night before, it's just an extra step that try don't need to do., and less time you spend in the chair

Question about hair trials
Thanks for answering! I get that, but since my hair is curly, I wonder are they expecting that I am going to blow dry it myself the day of the wedding as well? That's a 45 min process for a pro, and 1 1/2 hour process for me. I don't mind doing it for the trial, but for the day of?! Why do they charge so much then? Ugh, damned curly hair!

Re: Question about hair trials
I would not do anything other than show up with clean hair au natural...not blow dryer or anything....after u apply heat, it will be hard without washing it again to undo what u did...just wash the night before and let it dry...

Question about hair trials
I have curly hair & to speed up the hair time I blow dried my hair the night before. The stylist usally wants it a lil dirty (not freshly washed) bc the updo/style stays longer and holds better. Hope that helps!

Question about hair trials
yes blown out before hand! It will only stress out the hairdresser and ruin your entire day to get blown out in the AM i promise sooo... go treat yourself to a blowout at a nice place the night or day before

Question about hair trials
I guess I will take your advice and get a blow out the day before. I was just confused since I am not getting an undo, my style in essence is just a blow out! Maybe I'll just whip out a curling iron the next day and curl the ends myself - saving $125 - $150! Thanks for all your help ladies

Re: Question about hair trials
Show them what you want because if you want just a blowout and not a full updo then maybe they will tell you otherwise!

Question about hair trials
Blow out with curl for 125.00 is super expensive. My hair stylist just told me clean dry hair and I didnt blow out my curly hair. I am getting an updo though so maybe it makes a difference. Im getting my hair blow out at the salon the night before.

Re: Question about hair trials
You're right, that is what I have started trying to do now. I think everyone assumes that brides want updos, or some version of one. Jeez my hair is so complicated, lol

Question about hair trials
If you aren't doing an updo I would tell them that they need to blow it out or else what are you paying them for since you are doing all the brunt work. You could prolly just schedule blow outs but tell them you Also want barrel curls at the bottom and pay much less than normal trials!

Question about hair trials
This has been my sentiment the entire time Kristin - I am doing most of the work if I blow it out! It really would be nice to get a price break since I won't be having anything intricate done. I guess we'll see!

As a formally curly girl, I feel your pain. I went the Japanese route though a few years ago. I would definitely search around bc it doesn't seem right for you to pay that much for a blow out. Good luck!
