If you 'hand cancelled' the invites, does it guarantee that they will not go through the machine? I went to 2 post offices yesterday and one said 'oh no it still HAS TO go through the machine!' The other one said 'If you hand cancel them they WON'T go through the machine' I'm scared they will get ruined. I have bad luck with these things! If you hand cancelled, What post office did you go to? And do you know for sure if it didn't go through the machine?

Re: Question about 'hand candelling' invitations...
they still go through a machine, but it's not the cancelling machine, so there's a better chance they won't get ruined before they get sent.

It's really not worth worrying over- you have to mail them, and once they're in the hands of the postal service you no longer have any control. Mine were hand cancelled, and when I saw a bunch of them at people's houses they looked perfect- nothing to worry about.

I agree. I had mine hand cancelled also, and the few I have seen are fine. I figure as long as they are perfect when they leave my house that is all I can do. What happens to them after that is out of my control so I'm not going to worry about it.

even if they do go through the machine... the only thing that will get ruined is the outside envelope... and people know that envelopes get dirty when you mail something... everything inside will still look perfect...
