Actually I have a couple of questions. How much does it usually cost for highlights (full head w/foil). I just had it done today and it cost $95...is that about right? My hair is about midway down my back. Also, I feel like my highlights are a little to subtle.....do they usually lighten up a bit after a few washes or should I go back. Also, in two months when I go to get them touched up do they redo your entire head or just the roots. As you can tell I have never highlighted my hair and I really have no clue.

The last salon I went to for highlights cost about 100 w/foil for a full head. the new salon is 120, which i think is a lot but i will only do it once or twice a year. if your hair is too light, go back and see what they can do for you. the stylist may not have understood what you were looking for. they say you can have yr highlights done every 3-4 months, but it can be somewhat damaging, so if you go back in a 4-5 months, just tell them you want the roots touched up.

That is about right in price...Yes they do lighten up...So i would wait a week before going back..I agree i would wait more than 2 onths to rehighlight. My hair grows VERY fast and i waited 4 mos...It is very damaging to your hair!

they just used color not bleach...so my friend just said they wouldn't lighten

Then I would wait, see if it lightens up on its own. if not, go back to the salon and tell them you wanted light highlights, see what they say.

the color is honey....and my hair is dark brown but it doesn't look honey the highlights are more of a medium brown in the front but still kind of dark in the back

Please post a picture!! From your profile, you look like you have dark hair. I really want highlights but haven't done it cause my hair is dark and I have no idea what to tell them to do!!

I believe but i am not certain they probably had to have some peroxide in it. If your hair is dark they need peroxide to lighten it up. Just putting light colored dye wouldn't change your hair color.

If you go to a reputable salon, they will do what they think will look good on you. meaning, they will not put bright red highlights if your hair is dark brown. tell them you what to lighten your hair, and the stylist will give you suggestions.

Dani - I would love to see pictures of your hair. I never had highlights done and I have dark brown hair and want something like you discribed.
