Question about inviting guests who you know can't come

Someone who got our STD already told me they can't come to the wedding because they have a family wedding the same day. Should I still send them an invitation?

Yes, besides the fact that things may have changed with their family's event, they may be offended that they didn't get an invite regardless.

i would say no... but only because i could use the extra space on my guest list!! you could always send them an invite with a note inside that says 'thought you might like this as a memento, sorry you won't be able to make it'

You should but I didn't send them to all becuase my invitations were expensive. My mom thought it was rude but she is old school. Wanted to invite the people I knew were coming. You decide

I would still send an invite.
I have some people that I know won't be able to attend, but will still send an invite.
A small expense, but a nice thing to do. It is the thought that counts.

A good chunk of my invites are going out to people who will most likely not be attending. We did not want to insult anyone by not sending an invite.

My situation is a little different, being that I have a destination wedding. But we are sending our invitations to all 200 guests, even though we already know only about 60-70 are attending.

I would still send them an invitation because circumstances can change, you did send them a STD and it might come off as a bit rude not to .

I would send it to them. It is best to send it than have someone feel insulted.

I knew/know that a lot of people can't make it to my wedding, and was told after sending them STD. I still invited them because they are important to me and I wanted them to have an invitiation. I also felt that there is a chance that their obligations may change and that they might be able to make it, so I wanted them to have the option.

I sent invitations to people I knew couldn't come.....and they replied 'no' just like we expected them to.

i would still send them... it's rude not to in my opinion. besides, their plans may change and they might be able to come after all. . .

defintiely send to famiyl and clsoe friends even if they cant' come
