Question about Jordan Almonds as favors

Question about Jordan Almonds as favors

FH is Italian-American, so we're planning to have Jordan Almonds as favors (plus chocolate truffles). FMIL says that the tradition is to have white almonds in white tulle, with white ribbon, etc. It all sounds fine to me, but then we started pricing, and for packets with 5 almonds each, we're getting prices of over $1/packet. This seems really high to me, as it would be super-cheap to make them on your own. Has anyone gotten better prices?

Thanks!

For another cool idea for Jordan Almonds, check out Fabulous Favors on this site. They have these beautiful silk flowers and a jordan almond is placed in each petal. It's so nice and really different.

Re: Question about Jordan Almonds as favors

If you want real authentic almonds from Italy, there is an Italian store in Glen Cove called Tommasina's Fine Linens & Gift
262 Glen St, Glen Cove, NY 11542
Phone: (516) 674-4249

Their almonds were the best- soo yummy and authentic!!!
Right next to the Riva Grill and across the street from St. Patricks - it's a very small store but the owners are wonderful and have everything - i went on a sat - i think they are closed sundays - good luck!

edited to say: I am Italian too and my mom also insisted. I put them in a drawstring organza bag attached to my favor with an insert explaining the tradition and meaning begin the Bomboniere!
