question about kids in the bridal party...

question about kids in the bridal party...

I have two young kids in the bridal party (under 5 years old) But we decided to have no kids at the reception esp because its a late party. My flower girl is a cousin, she has a 5 year old brother and they are close with my other cousins who are 10. If we invite her to the reception then we have to have her brother and then we are goign to have to have the other cousins and if thats the case then FH has younger cousins too. What is everyone doing about their ring bearer and flower girls? are you inviting them? is there a nice way to not have them there?I dont even know where to start on this one.

I'm not having kids at my reception except for the kids in the BP and for FHs nieces and nephews. I couldnt imagine telling his sister not to bring the kids, they're part of our family. It's really up to you though, I personally would want anyone in the BP to be at the reception, it's up to the parents if they think it will be too late to have them there. Do you think they would be offended if you told them not to come?

We are having very limited kids. The 3 kids in the bridal party and their siblings. That is it.

The only children at our reception will be the children in our BP. Our flowergirl's brother will be invited ofcourse and fh's goddaughter who's not in the bp will also be invited. I know, this is a tough decision bc you dont wanna hurt anyones feelings or anyone feel bad.

We are having some kids at the reception we don't want any drama like we had with my shower cause we did not invite the kids and the drama was very bad. Just be very careful and make sure you spell it out in the invitations cause people will give you a hard time if it does not say no kids or adult party only if they have kids. I don't want to see you go threw the drama.

I've been to a few wedding where even kids in BP were not invited to wedding. (just cocktail hour)

hmm.. I guess the best thing to do would invite them and then leave it up to the parents if they think its appropriate. I just feel bad If I invite one I feel I should invite them all...

Yeah, i understand, bc I'm the same way and I know I'll feel bad not inviting certain kids in the family. But in our case, we want an 'adults only' reception and if we 'feel bad' and invite everyones kids then we can kiss that goodbye.

We are only having a FG and she will be invited to the reception but I think her parents are dropping her off at a relatives house for the reception. They want a night out. IMO once you start inviting some kids you have to invite them all or the drama starts.

Ugh..decisions decisions, and I thought booking venders were hard...thats easy as pie compared to these nitty gritty decisions. I guess I can tell her mom that we woudl love to have her but that its her decision since it will be a late night and there wont be other kids there to entertain her it might make it more compelling to drop her off and play it like that...

my rb will be just shy of 2 and will not be coming to ch or reception. my fg will be 5. she has a twin brother and an older sister who is 7. they will come to the ch, but i'm having a babysitter take them from there. my ch starts at 7, and that's way to late for little ones.

I would hire a babysitter to watch them in the hotel room afterward. Maybe a friend's mom or their regular babysitter if possible because I know you probably just don't want to leave them with strangers.

i am inviting the RB and FG, there older brother is in the wedding party (he's 12) and they might be picked up later. not sure what my FSIL is going to do. i'm inviting them and a few other kids. and ill leave it up to the parents of those kids if they want to bring them. but that's still up in the air. part of me doesn't think we should invite kids but FH and i need to keep having some chats about it.

We have two ring bearers they are six and three. They are going to be coming to the reception. Originally I felt the same as you. I suggested to my aunt that the boys come to the cocktail hour, and then they have someone pick them up. This way they are there for part of it, and my aunt and uncle can still enjoy themselves. However, I think they are going to be there the whole night. We will see I don't think they will make it.
