We are leaving for our honeymoon two days after our wedding. We got a special honeymoon package at our hotel which requires that you present your wedding certificate upon check-in. Is it possible to get my certificate so soon? Pastor Mike said that he fills out his portion and mails it in....so I guess we're not going to be able to get our certificate in time? So confused.....

Re: Question about marriage license/certificate
We stayed at the El Dorado Royale in Riviera Maya and for the romance package they said we needed the marriage certificate. We didn't have ours but we still got the package.

Re: Question about marriage license/certificate
Usually the officiant mails the signed license to the town clerk the day after the wedding (or later that day if it's early) and then the town has to receive it, process it, and mail the certificate back... I'd say it would take about a week to get it back. We had ours in the mailbox when we got back from our HM... but we were gone for 10 days.

We also had ours back in our mailbox within 10 days after our wedding- it had come when we were on the honeymoon- maybe get a letter from your officiant stating that he married you on such and such day and see if they can accept that instead of the marriage certificate?
Or show them a photocopy of the license? Or the receipt for the payment of the license?

Our itinerary says the same thing...BUT i don't think it's a big deal. I don't know that you can get your certificate any sooner!! We are not going to be able to bring ours so im hoping it's not a problem.

Re: Question about marriage license/certificate
i would just photocopy the license - i mean who would go through all that trouble to get one if you just wanted to get the honeymoon package
