Question about Minibride

Is 22 months too young to be a mini bride?
I was making my daughter a mini bride, because as a flower girl she will do her own thing with those rose petals. As a mini bride all she has to do is walk out right before i come out. Knowing her, she will be saying 'hi' to every person she sees.

Anyway when I was in the store buying her headpiece, the salesclerk told me she's a little too young for that role. I told him that my daughter should have that role above anybody else.

What you guys think?

Re: Question about Minibride

I think as long as you don't necessarily care if she does what she is 'supposed' to do, then as long as she can walk, she's fine! Another option is having her in a pretty wagon brought down the aisle by a RB or GM. I've seen this done before also.

A minibride is just another thing that the wedding industry made up so engaged couples spend more money.

Hooray.

well from what you explained...i think its perfect to have your daughter as that role and then you coming out...especially since she is your child....i think that would be so cute...

actually, mini brides are very popular in hispanic weddings. I was a mini bride like 5 times when I was between 2-5 yrs old. Sometimes there is only a mini bride and no flower girl. The mini bride wears are similar dress to the bride and can be escorted by a mini groom. I think is suppose to represent innocence, purity, etc. dont really remember....

BTW, no I dont think she is too young to be a mini bride... as long as she can walk I think its fine, maybe you want to consider having her walk with someone if you dont think she can make it down the isle by herself, especially if you will be coming out after her and wont be there to encourage her to keep walking...

Re: Question about Minibride

I've made up my mind and printed the programs; my daughter is the mini bride. When I tried the headpiece and dress on her last night, my child went “wow” and started spinning around ran to the mirror and kept saying 'me', while smiling and looking at herself. When a 1 year old does such things, it is the cutest thing ever. The headpiece looks just like the one the flower girl wears except the veil is attached to the back. The dress is a white puffy dress, which she was wearing regardless of her role.

Thanks Ladies
