Hi everyone! I have been looking for a site where i can look for ideas for my wedding. The thing is, im not having a traditional wedding as my partner and i are having a reception here in NY. i didnt see much about gay weddings here on this site. If there is a reason why i dont belong here, please let me know... otherwise i am just looking for some advice and opinions. i dont have many friends that are planning a wedding right now, so it would be nice to have people to talk to. Thank you in advance for reading this :)

A good starting place to find vendors is on here...if you look at the tabs on the top, you will see vendors and then their catergories. Not to say that other vendors arent good...its just that LIW vendors are very easy to find a lot of information (good and bad) on from their reviews on here which will help with your decision.
Is your reception hall in Commack?

You are very welcome to the site!! In 2007 when my son and DIL got married there was a gay couple here that made friends with everyone and posted pictures of the wedding, etc. Have fun planning your wedding and feel free to ask any question you may have. Good Luck!

When I first joined I found the Bridal Reviews to be the most helpful. Because you actually got to see what the final products looked like and their experience with the vendor (good or bad).
Congrats on your upcoming wedding and warning this site gets very addictive.
ITA...I used to read the reviews and the search option before I started posting. I also went to some of the invite sites and ordered free samples to feel the quality. However, I think going into a printer/stationary store or wedding boutique will offer you books of invitation samples.
Anyway...welcome to the site...its chock full of ideas, and great chatter.

Hello! I agree with everyone that you can get some great ideas from this website but if you are looking for some ideas and advice from other same sex couples The Knot website has a lot of info. If you join there is a message board dedicated to same sex couples where you can speak to others. Good luck and congratulations!
