So... Duet has been out top pic for photography. My friend used Duet for photo and video back in April and i borrowed the video last night to watch it.
We weren't that impressed
So now i don't know what to do. The price for everything was great and we LOVE their photo's but in our opinions the video left something to be desired. Has anyone seen other video's by Duet and had different opinions?
This would be one of the main things to have us not book with them.
And to think, at first we didn't even want video. But if we are paying for it we want it to be good.

Re: question about photo/video
when we went to book with duet we actually liked the video we saw...
we weren't too picky about video since we originally didn't plan to get on but decided we might regret it if we didn't.....but we saw a lot of other places that the video was not good at all...we thought duet was good for what we wanted.

Re: question about photo/video
Well when we met with them originally, they showed us one of their videos and we though the quality was very good for the price. But I can't easily say they weren't just putting their best foot forward.

Re: question about photo/video
is there any way you can just use them for photography or no? (or does that go against the whole 'duet' concept lol)

We booked the photographer and videographer sep. b/c of the same reason. Our videographer is amazing! He did my friends video and it was like a real movie.

thats what we might end up doing and see if we can find another videographer for a decent price. My fear, cuz i've seen it before, is if the photographers and videographer aren't from the same company they tend to fight and get in each others shots.

i know thats my whole thing too...... and you cant ask who they recommend for video (who will be someone they get along with) cuz they do video as well.... if anything you can look into video and ask them who they recommend for photo (because they usualy name people that are good and they work well with) and see who they say and just take it from there

we went with duet. they showed us a video when we met with them and we thought it was pretty good. How often are you really going to watch it?

Re: question about photo/video
imo - the video the company always shows you when you are there is their best work. i think its best to see a friends/family's video b/c you are seeing the real stuff. so if you are not happy with it, then i would not book it. maybe book video with someone else.

totally agree... you saw what you would be getting and regardless of the number of time your going to watch it you still paying for it so if you didnt like it i really dont think you should book it with them

Re: question about photo/video
I am not so crazy about the video. It is really the pictures that are important to me. And when we saw Duet's video, I thought it was fine. Go with what is comfortable for you.

is this true? My FSIL told me about this, but this was what her photog told her, so i thought it was all part of the 'sell.' I am planning on using two different companies and pray they work well together...

i am sure it has happened....if they aren't used to working together they may just interfere with one another...but it doesnt mean that it will def happen...they may work together jsut fine!

Re: question about photo/video
In my opinion...a photography compnay is likely not going to specialize in video and vice versa...so one is always going to be better than the other.
I figure I will watch the video very infrequently after the novelty wears off...so I dont care if it's fabulous...as long as the video quality is good.
