FH and I decided we want to have a dinner the night before the wedding with all our close family and out of town friends who will be staying at the hotel. It's technically not a 'rehearsal' dinner because we won't have a rehearsal until right before the wedding. but.... .we are calling it a rehearsal dinner since that's what everyone else calls the same kind of thing Anyway, we are adding up the current guest list and it's about 40 people!!! We started seriously talking about it and we don't think we want to spend the night before our wedding with 40 people at a dinner!!!!! We just want it to be laid back and relaxing since we will both be getting nervous for the big day!! Any suggestions? Should we cancel the dinner?

Can you have a champagne toast and finger foods with your guests, then end early?

hmm I don' know...... I want to do something nice but I don't want it to be a big deal. Would it be rude to eliminate the family and just do something with our close friends?

we're doing a casual party in my parents backyard. Either a BBQ or heros or something. I want it to start at 6:00 so it doesn't go so long and i can relax for the rest of the night.
