we recently went to a wedding, and all of the grooms family as on one side, and all of the brides family was on another side.. the families didn't mingle with eachother.. it was wierd.. I want our families to meet and chat, etc.. Do you have to have one side for the grooms family and one for the brides or can you mix them all together??

Re: question about seating
we wanted to intermingle them but our parents weren't overly happy about it. they felt that it would be easier for them to mingle with their guests if they all sat on one side. they also thought that since we have a lot of out of town family they would want to sit near eachother and talk.
we haven't decided yet what we are going to do.

Re: question about seating
Hmmm I am not sure. I havent gotten to that part yet. It is going to be hard, I know it. But I think my hall is set up where the families will be together (not at the same tables) but in the 'table area'.

Re: question about seating
I am keeping his family on one side and my family and our friends on another ( to even it out) hopefully they will mingle. either way they will meet on the dance floor. As long as everyone is having a good time I dont care what side of whos family they are or arent talking too - jmo

Re: question about seating
For safety's sake, They shoudlprabable be separated ( in my case ) We have the option of havign table-dance floor-tables or as the bnaquet manager put it, ' intimate dinner party style' with the dance floor on one side. We may do it that way. I do want to keep peopel near each that I am only puttignat separate tables becaue they don't fit. You know what I mean? If I have 2 aunts at 1 table & 1 aunt at another, they should be near each other.
