Question about shuttle bus when booked at La Quinta
I know you get the shuttle with every 15 rooms you book. But I was wondering the shuttle only holds about 15 people right?
I think I remember asking if we could pay to get another shuttle and I think they said it was $100 extra?! Not bad. All I know is I will definitely have more than just 15 people at the hotel. Alone my family (parents/brothers/sisters) is 8 so that doesn't leave much more room.
But just wondering if anyone else knew about this?! Oh and when our quests get to the hotel to drop off their cars and want to get to JT for the reception is the shuttle there for them to use?! Because I thought for every 15 rooms you get a ride to JT and back included right?
Sorry I just hate waiting for people to call me back. I called about 2 times already waiting to hear back from Makita

Re: Question about shuttle bus when booked at La Quinta
i think it might hold more than 15ppl since its 15 rooms and usually theres more than 1 person in a room. Plus i think the shuttle might do a couple pick ups and drop offs, not sure

Re: Question about shuttle bus when booked at La Quinta
It's a 14-passenger van and you get 1 RT for every 15 rooms blocked. You might want to consider using the credit for a guest room for you and FH rather then the shuttle and contact your limo company for a shuttle because they'll make multiple trips.

THAT IS STUPID THEN...why would they say you HAVE to book 15 rooms in order to get the shuttle and then its only a 14 passenger so basically they cant even accomodate the amount of the rooms they required in order to get the shuttle. That is such BS

Re: Question about shuttle bus when booked at La Quinta
if your guests stay 2 nights, it counts as 2 rooms. we have most OOTers staying sat and sun night, so its twice as many rooms.
we are just going to use that as an extra round trip shuttle trip for the wedding (for a second shuttle) does anyone know how many shuttles they have? i think we should be able to get enough for 3 shuttles if they have a third..
Some of our OOTers are FH's family and groomsmen who will be going to the hall early for pictures. I think FH's family is renting a 14 passenger van for the weekend so hopefully that will work out. we need to hammer out the details
right now we have 29 'rooms' booked (both nights included)

Re: Question about shuttle bus when booked at La Quinta
we might try to get something like a bus to make one trip from the hotel to the RH - we are having our ceremony at the RH and its going to take forever for the shuttle to bring everyone (since it only holds 14 people and trust me 14 people are not going to fit unless they are all really thin and small ) - that means some people will be waiting for like an hour at JT waiting for the ceremony to start and others will just make it in time and some might miss it....this happened to FSIL but it was the CH that people were showing up late too so it wasnt as big of a deal....we figure if we can get one bus that can fit 40 people or so we could make sure all guests staying at the hotel know that there is ONE bus making ONE trip at say 4:45 - be there or be square....then we might try using the LaQuinta shuttles just to bring guests back at night - b/c its easy to get 40 people to leave the hotel for the ceremony but there is no way all 40 guests are going to be ready to leave the RH at the same time - some might want to go back to the hotel early, some might stay until the very end......i just dont know where we can find a bus that fits 40 people to do one trip.....maybe through a limo company?

Get the party bus type buses...thats what i have for us and bp after the ceremony. A 40 passenger party bus, although there might be less expensive ones. This one has a 50 inch flat screen, bar and all those amenities which you dont need

FSIL got a shuttle out of Garden City Hotel a few years ago - im assuming its the same type of shutte service - it was ghetto and crowded and the guy had to make so many trips because not everyone could fit - i was in a gown sitting on FH's lap squashed - were packed in there like sardines - i dont want to do that - thats why i rather do a bus - even though it looks a little ghetto at least people will be comfy

Re: Question about shuttle bus when booked at La Quinta
I will tell you all once again to call Makita. What they have to tell you and what they might actually do for you is very different. I was told we would only get 1 round trip for 15 rooms blocked HOWEVER I also have guests staying as long as a week. She explained to us that if we make arrangements in advance there may be a small fee for the use of the shuttle on days other than the wedding.
You can all hash it out here, or, you can call and speak to La Quinta directly.
Telling her 'I heard blah blah blah' will not get you anywhere. Ask her a bunch of what if's, tell her you situation and exactly what you want/need and ask for her help. That is what we did. She is taking very good care of us.

if you have guests staying a week then that will definitely help. I think all of mine who will stay will only stay 1 night. We dont have alot of OOT guests and those who are dont live that far, they live in jersey, upstate and pennsylvania and just a few from florida. The florida ppl have family here, and a couple of the other OOT guests are staying at a hotel by fh's house and our church instead so not even sure how many rooms we'll be able to block

i know this. but i called her twice in one week and waiting for a call back so i decided to ask everyone who is booked maybe they already know. plus my guests are only staying one night the night of the wedding. i only have a couple OOT people and they are an uncle/cousins and an aunt and her bf. and they are staying with family members the rest of the time they are on LI. So that doesnt matter for me. Plus I was told for an extra $100 they would provide an extra RT ride but I still don't know if that would fit plus my guest would be waiting around
