And they said we can get married there!! we just have to come in and talk to them and fill out some papers saying we are raising our children catholic!! Im really excited .. but also nervous does anyone know what kind of stuff they ask you? FI said he was really nice on the phone and didnt say anything mean about us having a baby.. and he was really happy we are raising him this way. Please tell me what to expect so I can be prepared!! thanx

They ask you if you were ever a priest, ever married, plan to raise the kids catholic....nothing too drastic. The priest (Fr. Wilson) is a pretty nice guy! I wouldn't worry....all the questions are basically self explanatory.

DON'T TELL HIM THAT!!! They feel like doing all that first is a disrespect to the church!!!

I agree with giggles. The church wants you to focus on the ceremony versus the party (i.e. the marriage and committment versus the wedding day).

Don't worry about the interview, its not meant to be painful, they will ask some personal questions though so be prepared to sit alone with the priest (without your FI) as he asks a bunch of yes or no questions. This is how they did it for us at my church.

St. Luke's didn't separate us, they just asked us a bunch of questions.

My church didn't separate us either. One of the questions that they asked was 'Is there any reason why you would be unable to forfill the sacarment of marriage?'

My darling (non catholic) FH says something to the point of do you mean if we are deaf or can't speak.

The priest nearly fell off his chair laughing and looked at me and goes don't worry he will get it. Then turned to him and goes I meant sexually. Needless to say FH was as red as a tomato and quickly answered NO!
