question about tips

I'm trying to budget for tips. Who knew that I'd need a budget for this.

Anyway, how much are you planning to give your maitre d? I know a lot of people say $2-3 per person. But I am having like 350 guests, maybe more. So that means I have to give $1050?

That's more $ than my wedding gown.

i am not really 100% sure about this but i think when booking your RH the banquet manager will tell you how much to give. maybe you should call & speak with your BM.

i was told the same $2-$3 depending on how i feel with the service, but i totally understand your standpoint since you are having so many guests. maybe post this on the bhb to get some feedback of the newlyweds to see if anyone had the same situation.

How many guests are you having? $5 pp for me would be $1750. I think that's a little steep for tips.

I have to check my paperwork but I am pretty certain my place told me $3-5 pp (or it may be $2-4) for Maitre D.....We are having, I am guessing, roughly 260-275....FH said lets go right in the middle and give $4 ($3 if it is the $2-4)....so yeah, I feel your pain!
